Each year, societies are asked to submit a business plan for the upcoming year and a fiscal year-end report for the prior year as part of the Society Member Service Standards (SMSS). This reporting is required to receive Operational funding.
Last fall we introduced a revised business planning process that will allow CFA Institute and CFA Societies to better align joint planning and budgeting efforts. Submission of forecasted society FY20 business plans is a core component of the revised planning process and is beginning now. Your society relations manager will contact you shortly with instructions.
CFA Institute has retired the SMSS tool used in previous years and will launch a new version of the reporting process next year. In the spirit of Societies 2.0, this new tool will have advanced features, resulting in a streamlined experience for society leaders and a platform better positioned to support societies’ planning efforts.
Since the new tool will not go live until next year, we will deploy an online form to collect required society business plan information. Please note that the deadline for your FY20 beginning of year reporting is 30 June 2019.
Societies will be asked to submit FY19 year-end reporting beginning in July.
If you have any questions about the process or the interim online form, please contact your society relations manager.
