Marking Climate Week NYC, CFA Society New York hosted two prestigious events: the African Heads of State and Asset Owners Forum on 20 September and the Third AOS Climate and ESG Asset Owner Summit on 21 September.
Both hybrid events brought together high-profile speakers and key local stakeholders, including members, candidates, and the wider investment community. In line with climate week, attendees of the African Forum heard directly from policymakers about ESG projects and ESG compliance in the African continent and those attending the Climate and ESG Asset Owner Summit heard how asset owners are responding to “Net Zero”.
Commenting on the events, Thomas Brigandi, CFA, Chair, CFA Society New York Board of Directors; Founder, CFA Society New York Asset Owner Series, said:
“As host of the African Heads of State and Asset Owners Forum, I had the privilege of welcoming African Presidents and Finance Ministers who introduced their infrastructure and investment projects and policies they are pursuing to stimulate and attract global and intra-African investment.
As founder of the CFA Society NY Asset Owner Series, it gave me great pride to celebrate this years’ Third AOS Climate and ESG Asset Owner Summit which focused on the status of sustainable investing among asset owners through key addresses and panel discussions by representatives from around the world.
I would finally like to thank CFA Institute for their support and sponsorship of these events at CFA Society New York during Climate Week.”
The events helped to raise the profile of CFA Society New York and encouraged conversations on sustainable investing among the local investment community.
