On 7 March, the CFA Society Philadelphia Women’s Advisory Committee hosted its first day-long event focused on diversity and inclusion within the financial services industry.
This event was a great success, with 150 attendees. Over 95% of these attendees were satisfied with the conference based on the results of the post-event survey.
The conference addressed many of the pressing topics regarding investment and professional growth, and personal growth. Lauren Foster of CFA Institute provided a review of the recently published guide, “Driving Change: Diversity & Inclusion In Investment Management" and nine corporate sponsors supported the event.
Rob Norton, CFA, board president, CFA Society Philadelphia said: “CFA Society Philadelphia was thrilled to host our 1st Diversity and Inclusion Conference. We had tremendous attendance and the energy and enthusiasm of the group was palpable. Working with Society leaders, local investment professionals and educators, the organizing committee developed a strong program which touched on issues and solutions as the financial industry addresses improving Diversity and Inclusion. The Woman’s Advisory Committee of CFA Society Philadelphia was instrumental in creating the event and generous sponsorship helped make the event a success.”
CFA Society Philadelphia plans to make its Diversity and Inclusion conference an annual event.
