CFA Institute last conducted a member compensation survey in 2007. Since then, members and society leaders have often expressed interest in updated compensation data, so this spring we will conduct a new global compensation survey.
The survey is expected to open on 8 April, following a soft launch to approximately 6,000 members two weeks prior. The data gathered from this survey will provide members and societies with access to a unique set of market-level data related to compensation (salaries, bonus levels, total compensation) across our global membership.
In August, members will be provided an executive summary of survey results as well as access to an online portal to search and view aggregate CFA Institute member compensation data. Global results will be available to all members, though, in order to encourage response rates, participants who complete the survey will have access to an enhanced dataset, depending on participation rates and data availability across markets. Enhanced data could include drill down access into sub-market, detailed role specialty and various member demographic information. Society staff will be provided access to all data in line with participants’ access, and in advance of member access.
The invitation to members to participate in the survey will be extended by CFA Institute to all global members. To maximize response rates, we ask societies to support promotion of the survey to your local memberships. Body copy:
Dear [first name],
CFA Institute is conducting a survey on member compensation that will support your ability to compare your compensation to that of your peers.
Though all members will have access to an executive report and summary data, if you complete the survey, you will receive full access to the interactive online portal, enabling you to analyze specifics such as market differences, detailed role specializations, and additional demographic information.
You will have received an email about the survey from CFA Institute and we encourage you to join us and your colleagues by participating. Data slices will only be reported when there are enough results to ensure anonymity, so the depth and quality of the results available depend on strong member participation.
Results will be made available in August.
