Building upon the foundation of the CFA® Program experience, CFA Institute has been working in close collaboration with CFA Societies to develop a career focused competency framework. This is designed to guide members in the skills they need to either (1) develop in their existing role, or (2) transition into a new job role. It will also act as a framework for the curation and origination of learning content.
Over the last year CFA Institute has been working with societies to identify and obtain feedback on the skills and competencies needed by investment practitioners across a range of roles. The regional Society Leadership Conferences provided an excellent opportunity to communicate developments in this project, and to discuss with societies the potential applications of the framework.
But work is still to be done. Members of the Society Relations team and Presidents Council Representatives are now engaging with you to see whether you will be able to share the framework and interactive survey tool* with your members. This will enable us to obtain further feedback to ensure its relevance and validity to your society. The framework will then be iterated to reflect the themes which emerge.
For further information on distributing the interactive survey tool to your members, please contact the Practice Analysis team at practiceanalysis@cfainstitute.org or your Society Relations Manager.
We are aiming to have feedback by the end of November so that the final stage of iterations can be made.
