In early 2018 the Presidents Council struck a workgroup comprised of PCRs and global society leaders to review how PCRs were allocated across regions.
The PCR Allocation 3.0 work group finished its work in 2018 and a key recommendation was to add an additional PCR for EMEA region. This would enhance PCR support to the region, EMEA East specifically. The region encompasses 27 societies that represent a diverse cultural and geographic perspectives, and getting an additional voice from this region is important to the Presidents Council moving forward.
In a truly collaborative effort between PCRs, CFA Institute staff and the Board of Governors, the Board passed a resolution to increase the number of PCRs. As a result, EMEA East will be split into Central & Eastern Europe and Middle East & Africa with a PCR election for CEE to be held at the Global SLC in May. Overall, PCR group is richer by an additional PCR, adding more support to Presidents and our societies globally.
Thank you to everyone involved, particularly Susan Williams, CFA, PCR Central and Southwest US, and the other work group members for getting this important initiative over the finish line.
