There was consistently positive buzz around the new competency framework and the vision for professional learning; lots of productive conversation on thoughtful advocacy strategy; and example-after-example of partnership in action. Thanks to all who participated.
Watch the Partnership in Action video to learn more about our shared vision, aligned strategies and key FY19 accomplishments. And look for all conference content on the Society Center when posted later this month.
Advocacy
Sarah Maynard, ASIP, Joins CFA Institute
I’m delighted to welcome Sarah Maynard who joined CFA Institute this week as Global Head, External Diversity & Inclusion Strategies and Programs. An experienced investment professional, Sarah joins us from Majedie Asset Management, an independent investment firm based in the UK, where she was Client Communications Director and Head of Stewardship. In this role, she focused on ESG, especially governance, with a keen interest in how companies can achieve success through improving inclusion in stewardship. Prior to that, she was Director of Career Development at CFA Society UK, and a founder of their Women’s Network, which is now the Inclusion & Diversity Network.
Building Brand
Society Brand Activation Funding Now Available
FY20 Society Brand Activation (SBA) funding is now available to help your CFA Society to improve local visibility, recruit more members, increase member engagement, and pursue activities that will increase brand awareness. CFA Institute will be providing $11M globally and you can apply for funding via your Society Relations Manager. View SBA services on the local brand building page and see examples of how societies used funding in FY19 to advance their objectives.
Brand and Media Learning Content
CFA Institute has produced two new pieces of learning content to support CFA Societies with brand building efforts: “Media Relations” provides details of how to partner with CFA Institute to generate positive media coverage and “Branding in Action” provides details on how to protect and properly use our brand.
LinkedIn Update
Following our recent launch of an enhanced Connexions, we’re continuing to focus on streamlining the way we engage with you. As such, we have decided to close the CFA Institute Society Leaders group on LinkedIn. We will be exploring plans for enabling peer discussions through Connexions or another Society Leader channel in the future. The group will close on 29 November.
