Lutfey Siddiqi, CFA, recently joined the CFA Institute leadership team as Managing Director, Regions & Society Relations. Lutfey understands the value and power of our unique global community and is looking forward to collaborating with the CFA Society^® network.

Broad Industry Experience

Lutfey is a former investment banker and award-winning industry leader across developed and emerging economies.

His previous investment industry experience includes time at Deutsche Bank, Barclays, and most recently UBS Investment Bank, where he was Global Head of Emerging Markets for Foreign Exchange, Rates, and Credit (FRC) and a member of the FRC Global Executive Committee. He was also the founding head of UBS Knowledge Network.

Lutfey has had a concurrent role in academia for over a decade. He is currently a Visiting Professor-in-Practice at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and an Adjunct Professor at the National University of Singapore.

He is also a member of the World Economic Forum Global Future Council on Fiscal & Monetary Policy and has served on its councils for the Future of Financing and Long-term Investing.

Deep Knowledge of CFA Institute and the CFA Society Network

Lutfey is an innovative leader who is deeply passionate about advancing the mission of CFA Institute. Society leaders around the globe may be familiar with his work, as he was a prominent board member of CFA Society Singapore and promoter of several of the recently established societies in the Asia-Pacific region.

In addition, he was a member of the CFA Institute Future of Finance Content Council, providing strategic advice on, and acting as ambassador for, CFA Institute thought-leadership.

With extensive ties to the society network, Lutfey will be invaluable in furthering our partnership and clarifying our strategic direction across regions and with society partners.

Lutfey’s approach

Lutfey brings strong expertise in shaping strategy and developing detailed plans of action. He is focused on outreach and has displayed a strong commitment to supporting his colleagues and clients.

In this newly created role, Lutfey will lead engagement with members and stakeholders globally (including industry and academia), and help enhance the reach and influence of the organization, in collaboration with the CFA Society community.

Lutfey is a keen intellect and thoughtful individual, and these skills will be hugely beneficial as he embarks on a “listening phase” over the next few months. He will use this time to learn more about the organisation and our partners, gather information, and hear from key stakeholders across the globe.

This month, Lutfey will join Marg Franklin, CFA, President and CEO, CFA Institute, and Randi Tolber, CFA, Senior Head, Global Society Relations, CFA Institute, for a Virtual Town Hall. He will share his vision for the future of the society partnership and the opportunities ahead for CFA Institute and our global network. Global Citizen

Lutfey is a true global citizen, both on a personal and professional level. Born in Bangladesh, he attended school in the United Arab Emirates, Namibia, and Wales, and university in England. He has worked in London, Zurich, and Singapore in multi-regional, client-facing roles.
