After two years of pandemic-related restrictions, CFA Society South Africa was delighted to host its Annual Investment Conference in-person, on 3 November, in Johannesburg. The conference enabled the local investment community to share ideas, engage and reconnect face-to-face and the local society delivered member value across the South Africa Development Community region.

The conference created a welcome space for attendees to debate and discuss “Investing Amidst Uncertainty”. Leading experts, including Dr David Masondo, Deputy Minister of Finance and Professor Tshilidzi Marwala, vice-chancellor of the University of Johannesburg, shared their views in a series of presentations, debates, and fire-side chats.
Around 75 individuals attended in-person and 55 attendees from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Botswana watched the virtual broadcast of the event.
The local society was able to develop its employer relations through conference sponsorship and speaker opportunities and increased awareness of CFA Society South Africa among the wider financial industry.
Jennifer Henry, CFA, President, CFA Society South Africa commented: “Our 2022 local annual conference is a testimony to the highest standards of excellence that the CFA designation stands for. The speaker line-up was world class, thought provoking and drove true thought leadership.”
