Virtual Event Format Helps GIPS Outreach Efforts CFA Society Greece has used the virtual event format to provide much needed outreach efforts surrounding GIPS. In the past, the local society found the number of people attending in person GIPS events was disappointing. The lockdown has given the society the opportunity to host a free, virtual event; generating interest and providing GIPS information without burdening the society with undue costs. Data Analysis in the ESG Rating On Tuesday 26 May at 6:30 - 7:30PM CEST, CFA Society Italy will be hosting a virtual event to discuss data analysis in the ESG rating. Is Quant Fundamentally Flawed? CFA Society Boston recently hosted a webinar that illustrated the practical limitations of the Fundamental Law of Active Management. Pulse Check of Members on COVID-19 Leads to Impactful Media Coverage in Montréal CFA Montréal recently conducted an “Economic Outlook and Members' Needs Pulse Check Survey” on the coronavirus pandemic to support members and raise awareness of the CFA designation. The survey successfully helped to raise the profile of the local society and CFA designation and led to seven pieces of media coverage.

An Economic Outlook for Texas After COVID 19 CFA Society Texas recently hosted a Town Hall with Richard Fisher, former President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, which had an online audience of almost 3,000 people. The local society, supported by the Texas Business Hall of Fame, Texas Monthly and CFA Societies Texas, invited the public to ask questions regarding the myriad of COVID-19 challenges facing the U.S. economy and their specific implications for Texas.

Local Members Surveyed on the Best Solution to Coronavirus in Slovakia CFA Society Slovakia recently conducted a survey in which 23 local society members from the financial industry in Slovakia participated. The survey contained four different solutions to the coronavirus crisis in Slovakia, which respondents evaluated. They also had to opportunity to present their own solutions.
CFA Society Slovakia issued a press release with the results, which received wide coverage by the local media. The survey results were also sent to the top executives of the National Bank of Slovakia, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, and Family of the Slovak Republic.

CFA Society Shenzhen Hosts Live Broadcasts on WeChat CFA Society Shenzhen has developed its own live broadcast platform and management channel on the WeChat App, a Chinese multi-purpose messaging, social media and mobile payment app. The platform includes registration and payment functions. Within a month, the local society held four online professional lectures for society members, with over 2,500 viewers watching the live broadcasts. CFA Society® Community in Texas Gives Candidates a “Virtual Fist Bump” Following the exam postponement news, CFA Societies Texas and the four local societies – CFA Society Austin, CFA Society Dallas-Fort Worth, CFA Society Houston and CFA Society San Antonio – worked quickly to extend messages of support and encouragement to exam candidates.
“Exam Tips and Myths” Artwork from CFA Society Philippines To help candidates during this unprecedented time, CFA Society Philippines has launched an exam-related social media campaign. CFA Society Orlando Launches The Investors First Podcast To offer member value through programming, CFA Society Orlando has used the expertise of a local society member to set up its “Investors First Podcast”. With COVID-19 causing huge market volatility, CFA Society Orlando decided to produce weekly episodes. The society has used the opportunity to have global thought leaders on the show (who usually have gruelling travel schedules) and a podcast with geopolitical strategist Peter Zeihan has proved particularly popular.
CFA Society San Francisco Curates Timely Content CFA Society San Francisco is curating timely investment industry content to support members and the investment industry. The content includes webinars, white papers, recorded audio and video presentations.
Its weekly newsletter also contains new content to support members through the present pandemic. This content focuses on: Children, Millennials, Staying Healthy, Working from Home and Professional Learning Resources.
CFA Society Boston Connects Members with Photo Contest CFA Society Boston is helping its members stay informed and connected. To provide a little fun, it has launched the CFA Society Boston Show & Win Photo Contest. Each week it holds a photo contest with a specific theme.
