On 7–8 March 2019, the Southeastern CFA Societies held an inaugural sub-regional Society Leadership Conference in Atlanta. The event aimed to strengthen Southeastern Societies through sharing expertise.
CFA Societies from across the region were represented, with 70 leaders in attendance. Sponsors and other professionals led development sessions, which focused on board and leadership training, working with paid staff and how Societies can get the most from CFA Institute initiatives like Societies 2.0. Paul Smith, President and CEO, CFA Institute, attended and contributed to the conference. The event was hosted to coincide with the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professional’s (ASFIP) International Women's Day networking event, which had around 140 attendees.
The conference was very productive in terms of Southeastern Societies exchanging ideas on initiatives to strengthen their impact on their members and industry. The regional collaboration paired with relevant updates from CFA Institute made for an excellent and memorable conference.
