I hope this message finds you all safe and adjusting as well as possible to the dramatic changes that have been brought to your work and personal lives by the current global situation. We are sensitive to the demands on your energy and time and will keep our communications streamlined to the most critical news and asks of you over these coming weeks.

Please look to our new Connexions page for a variety of resources to help you manage your local society and engage your members and communities in new ways during this period.
We very much want to recognize and celebrate the outstanding work of local societies and volunteers over the past year. The submission deadline for the first round of the Society Awards Programme has been extended to 30 April and we have shortened the application substantially in the hope that this gives you more flexibility to share your impactful stories.
Please note that Presidents Council Representative elections will open for nominations on 21 April. This is a bit later than the normal timeline in order to give potential candidates more time to prepare applications. The Presidents Council meeting, ordinarily held during the Global SLC, will be delivered virtually later this spring.
Stay safe and best wishes from all of us at CFA Institute.
With kind regards,
Randi

Celebrating 75 Years of the Financial Analysts Journal
The end of 2019 saw the completion of the 75th year that the Financial Analysts Journal® has been published and we are celebrating this milestone throughout 2020. A video on the success of the Financial Analysts Journal has been produced, and we encourage your local society to share this via social media.
New Career Tools Coming Soon
We have exciting news about the future of our Career Tools platform! The current system is retiring on 30 April and will soon be replaced with an improved version with expanded functionality. Recent platform users will be notified by email about the retirement of the old platform. We will inform you when the new platform is available.
SOCIETY MANAGEMENT
Evolving the SMSS tool
To streamline processes and leverage existing systems, we have taken action to evolve the process and tool, formerly known as Society Member Service Standards (SMSS). We will now be using Salesforce and our Contract Management System to collect your annual business plans and other operational funding requirements. The annual business plan and operating standards submission window will be open May—June, and the formal agreements submission window extends from May through August. Soon, we will be providing a detailed overview of the process, supporting help guides, and opportunities for live and pre-recorded training.
Zoom Licenses Available for Local Societies
During this challenging time, we are offering Zoom licenses to local societies to enable videoconferencing capabilities. This will help you to maintain connections between staff, volunteers, and board members. Zoom can also be used to engage your members in virtual events and meetings.
2020 Society Awards Programme Updates
With the current global situation, we have updated some of the award programme details. Round 1 applications are now due on 30 April 2020, and Round 2 applications on 26 June 2020.
Resources to help you navigate COVID-19
In order to provide further guidance for our global CFA Society® community during these unparalleled times, we will be sharing relevant resources and guidance with you on Connexions. We also ask that you share your resources and content with societies around the globe.
We hope that by collaborating, we can be agile, learn from one another, and navigate these challenging times together.
