CFA Society Calgary Launches First Event in Cvent!
We have been busy getting Cvent-ready for society use! Training sessions for CFA Institute staff was conducted globally in October to prepare our staff to support societies, whilst CFA Societies in the first transition wave will receive training throughout November and December. Both Society Operations and Cvent support will be available to help societies throughout the transition period.
Congratulations to CFA Society Calgary who were the first society to launch their Transformations in Finance: Artificial Intelligence event on Cvent this month!
Societies wanting to move to Cvent that do not use Member Nation will be opened by March 2020. To get in the next group please contact: SocietySupport@cfainstitute.org.
Society Hub
We continue to work on the branding and further build out of the Society Hub. The Hub will consolidate the user experience for society staff and provide actionable dashboards.
We will take an iterative approach to the roll out and change management as we get closer to being release-ready.
Society Portal (Siebel) Retirement
We now have 110+ societies trained to use Salesforce, eliminating the need for Society Portal.
We will continue to focus our efforts to train societies so they can take advantage of the additional data in Salesforce.

Data & Analytics
Member Data Reporting
Ensuring you have accurate member data continues to be our top priority. In the last quarter we have:
- Made updates to CFA Charter holder status to account for lapsed and cancelled membership.
- Continued address validation for State/Province and Country data.
- Improved global data for employer accounts.
- Resolved Mailing Address field issues in Global Reports.
Data cleanup and enhancements will continue through Q2. Further updates will be provided via release notes here.
Tableau Analytics
We have completed a proof of concept for a tableau portal for societies. This capability will allow societies to have data analytics to aid in better business decision making.
We will be working with our partner to get this ready for pilot use in January 2020!
Society Updates to Member Data
Solution design is in progress for granting society staff the ability to update members’ contact information. Initial data available for update will be Mailing Address, Employment Information, and Phone.

Society Support: Operations and Technology
A new ticketing system was put in place to better serve our societies across the globe. This allows the team to respond quickly to requests and to get better metrics on the type of requests coming in.
