CFA Institute recently celebrated its 75th anniversary, commemorating the day in 1947 when analyst societies of Boston, Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia joined forces to realize their shared commitment of bringing higher standards to the investment profession.
To mark this major milestone and the continued growth of its global community, CFA Institute hosted a celebration with the four founding societies. The event brought together local society members from CFA Society Boston, CFA Society Chicago, CFA Society New York, and CFA Society Philadelphia; CFA charterholders; colleagues; volunteers; industry leaders and the media. CFA Institute was thrilled to host luminaries from the industry and influential members of the media from publications including the Financial Times and Reuters.
This cocktail reception marked one of the first opportunities for CFA Institute constituents to gather in-person since the pandemic. There were more than 50 attendees who gathered at the rooftop space to experience the view and atmosphere. The energy in the room was quite palpable; the passion of the constituents for CFA Institute – its history and future – was evident.
Margaret Franklin, CFA, CEO, CFA Institute spoke to the audience about the important role the founders of CFA Institute played in raising standards of ethics and education in the investment profession. She noted that although the organisation has never stood still, the core mission of the organisation has not changed over these first 75 years. Margaret also highlighted the future of CFA Institute, how the next 75 years hold an incredible amount of promise for all constituents, and the organization’s mission remains more relevant than ever among the fast-moving backdrop of the investment landscape.
CFA Institute has also run a 75th anniversary campaign, including commemorative social events at offices around the globe, the planting of 75 trees in the Americas, EMEA and APAC, and a special series of social posts across social media platforms.
