On 8-9 November 2018, CFA Society Nigeria hosted the Nigeria Investment Conference 2018 in Lagos, under the “Let’s Measure Up” theme.
The conference brought together senior executives, regulators, academics and policymakers under one roof and challenged the investment industry to measure up to the very high standards expected of a forward-looking industry.
At a time when there is intense competition for global capital, discussion focused on ways Nigeria can improve markets and attract much-needed investments. Calls were made to policymakers to enact policies that will help to spur economic growth. The event also had a special focus on women in investment management.
Banji Fehintola, CFA, President, CFA Society Nigeria, said: “Nigeria is Africa’s largest economy, but it remains poor in social capital and business environment. The Nigeria Investment Conference 2018 emphasised the need for investment professionals and people in the financial services industry to commit to measuring up to global standards. The role of ethics cannot be overemphasised if we are to see tangible results.”
