To help drive a growing advocacy program, CFA Society Singapore used operational funding to hire a new Executive Director for Advocacy.

Society management goals: Professional society staffing
Society operational priorities: CFA Society Singapore advocacy efforts had always been led by volunteers. However, its programs had reached a critical stage, volunteers were stretched and a dedicated resource was required to elevate its advocacy outreach to the next level.
Outcome: CFA Society Singapore invested the funding to hire a dedicated Executive Director for Advocacy in March 2019. This individual aims to grow the recognition of CFA charterholders as thought leaders in the investment management industry and raise ethical and professional standards in Singapore. This additional staff member will also deepen regulatory engagement and drive ethics programming for the Society.
Impact: "I am honored to be tasked to drive the advocacy pillar in Singapore. This year we will roll out an integrated ethics education programme. This will not only equip our participants with the ability to identify and analyze ethical issues but to put in the last and most difficult part of the jigsaw puzzle i.e. to give voice to values. The new ethics programme will also enable the participants to act on their values for the benefit of society." Fook Leong, Executive Director for Advocacy, CFA Society Singapore.
