To support candidates and members in neighbouring countries, CFA Society South Africa recently hosted CFA Charter recognition events in Namibia, Zambia and Botswana for the first time.
The main objective for CFA Society South Africa was to interact with the CFA community in these locations, including CFA charterholders, CFA candidates, volunteers and stakeholders, while providing member value and promoting the CFA Program. The in-person networking events enabled CFA Society South Africa to establish connections with the local CFA volunteers and facilitate future partnerships and collaborative projects.
The CFA Charter recognition events attracted existing CFA Charterholders, new CFA charterholders, charter pendings, CFA candidates, stakeholders and guests.
Austin Chijikwa, CFA, Board Member of CFA Society South Africa and Chair of the SADC Committee said: “We are very encouraged by how well the charter recognition events were received in each country. Being the first time that this was happening outside of South Africa, the members felt seen and motivated to engage in more society activities. The events and engagements leading up to the events also created a great platform to understand the particular priorities for each country so that society activities become more relevant for them. Based on the success of these events we intend to make them a permanent feature in our annual calendar.”
