In 2018, we chose Prometric as our primary computer-based testing (CBT) delivery vendor after an extensive process and executed a five-year contract. As the end of the initial contract approached, we began to assess our options for the future.
Through the CBT transition and the global pandemic challenges, Prometric proved to be a reliable strategic partner that worked hard to help us meet our objectives. We spent the last year conducting honest assessments, having frank conversations, and hosting many negotiating sessions that ultimately resulted in a recommendation to the Board of Governors that we extend our relationship with Prometric.
Thank you for sharing the testing experiences of candidates in your local markets. These insights helped inform our conversations and specify our needs. Based on your feedback, beginning with the February 2023 exams, candidates will:
- Receive paper and a writing utensil for use as scratch paper, in lieu of white boards and wet-erase markers
- Be presented with the Level II and III vignettes side-by-side the accompanying item set questions, so both can be viewed on the computer screen at the same time
- Be able to highlight within the vignette as well as within the questions themselves
The new contract term went into effect on 1 January 2023 and will run through 31 December 2028. New terms and conditions were agreed upon, including but not limited to
- retaining the seat, licensing, and management fees from the original agreement;
- updates and expansions to our service level agreements, key performance indicators, and customer performance indicators; and
- enhancements to several IT systems and functionality.
We look forward to continuing our work with Prometric colleagues to strengthen the candidate experience, streamline processes, and identify additional areas of improvement.
Please continue to contact your relationship manager with general feedback about candidates’ testing experiences with Prometric or British Council or to alert us to local issues that may impact testing. This feedback is escalated to the Exam Administration and Security team, who reviews this information and follows up with Prometric and British Council as appropriate. We ask that you only pass along general feedback about test centers and the testing experience; individual candidate issues should continue to be escalated to the Global Contact Center for resolution.
We look forward to hearing your feedback as we continue to refine and improve candidates’ testing experience.
