It is hard to believe that we are halfway through 2020. Thus far, it has been a challenging year for much of the world. We hope that as economies around the globe wrestle with opening back up and managing safety concerns, you and your families remain safe and healthy.

Despite all that is going on around us, much has been accomplished. We are grateful to the CFA Society® community for the attention you have given to Marg’s updates on the strategy in regional calls; continuing to deliver exceptional programming to your members, in a whole new way; and your thoughtful attention to the business planning process for FY21. Thanks to everyone who submitted plans by the deadline of 30 June.
This year more than ever, understanding your plans for the coming year, as well as your FY20 achievements, is especially important. Your reporting provides CFA Institute with the context and detail needed to assess the progress of our partnership, impact achieved, and financial health of your local society. It also helps to inform how we can best support the full network, ensure sound use of resources, and engage all of you in the opportunities our new organizational strategy will present.
The FY20 Year-End Report preview is now available for societies to access on the Society Center, and every society will receive a customized, partially pre-populated workbook in the coming weeks. Over half of the CFA Society network has concluded its FY20 and we look forward to receiving completed Year-End Reports within the next month or two. For the remaining societies that are yet to reach year-end, we hope that receiving a customized report workbook will help to set expectations and lead to a more expedited submission.
Important upcoming events:
- Decoding the CFA Institute Member Survey: Is the Coronavirus Rocking the Foundation of Capital Markets? We will be hosting an exciting global event for society leaders from 14 to 16 July on the CFA Institute members survey. Three separate viewings will be broadcast, each one regionally tailored and complemented with a live Q&A. We encourage you to register for your regional event now.
- Global Society Town Hall: The Board of Governors will meet from 16 to 17 July. Following this, Marg and I will hold a global society town hall in mid-August to share additional details of our new strategy, as approved by the board. Look out for the upcoming invitation.
